About Studio AZ

We’re not reinventing the wheel.

Just dialed in on what works — a ten-chair barbershop in the Minneapolis North Loop, open since October 2022, with Studio AZ Tattoo one floor below.

How it works here

  • We don't upcharge for thicker hair.
  • We don't sell you product you didn't ask for — but it's on hand if you do.
  • We're not trying to reinvent the wheel. We're dialed in on what works: good-ass haircuts, punctuality, and strong relationships.
  • Every barber here is an independent contractor. They run it their way, which is why they're more present while they're doing it.

The difference between a $35 cut and a $200 cut isn’t the chair or the playlist. It’s how much your barber cared about the line behind your ear, how clean your neck looks when you stand up, and whether you can actually style the cut at home on Monday morning.

Things that should NOT define luxury at a barbershop:

Whether the lobby has a chandelier.

Whether your barber wears suspenders.

Whether your shampoo cost more than the haircut.

Things that should:

Whether your barber asked you what you actually do for work.

Whether your fade still looks clean three weeks later.

Whether you walked out feeling more like yourself, not less.

We want people to feel like it's a luxury barbershop, but we focus on luxury in our customer service and our haircutting execution — not luxury frills that don't actually matter when getting your hair cut.
