North Loop

The barbershop
in the warehouse.

Inside the Union Plaza building at 333 Washington Avenue North. Two minutes from Target Field. Three blocks from the Blue and Green Line. Brick and timber, the way the neighborhood was built.

The North Loop was a warehouse district for a hundred and twenty years. Rail yards, cold storage, paper mills. You’d come here to load a truck, not to get a haircut.

In the last fifteen years it turned into the design and dining corridor of Minneapolis. The brick buildings stayed, the timber columns stayed, the freight elevators stayed. Studio AZ sits on the main floor of the Union Plaza building between Deja Vu and Dario — same brick, same beams, same big windows facing Washington Avenue.

If you’ve never been to the North Loop, park anywhere along Washington Avenue North or 3rd Street North; we don’t have a dedicated lot but street parking is real and meters take cards. The Blue Line and Green Line both terminate at Target Field Station two blocks away.
